cViewSERVER is our flagship Crystal Reports scheduler running as a Windows service.  It builds on our earlier development of cViewMANAGER, our original Crystal Reports scheduler. 

In October 2009, we released version 12.40 which upgrades the run time to support Crystal Reports 2008 and the Dot Net Framework 3.5.  This improvement means that reports designed with features new to Crystal Reports Xi and 2008 are now processed correctly.  It also supports SMTP mail servers that require authentication. 

We will continue to maintain cViewSERVER 10.* for users with older versions of Crystal Reports.

Run as a Windows Service
This is a total rewrite of our cViewMANAGER product to run as a Windows service.  That improves your reliability so when the server restarts, the reports in the schedule will automatically restart.  Critical errors are written to the Windows Event Log so your network administrators can monitor and manage reports better.

cViewREMOTE for Schedule Management
cViewSERVER includes one cViewREMOTE client for schedule management. This includes adding and removing reports from the schedule, setting the schedule time and output destination, and all the other configuration settings.  cViewREMOTE will also manage an existing cViewMANAGER schedule.  Additional cViewREMOTE clients are available separately.

Schedule Compatibility
Your cViewMANAGER report schedule can be used immediately by cViewSERVER.  No complex or lengthy upgrades to consider.

Improved SMTP processing
cViewSERVER uses the SMTP protocol to send email messages to your mail server.  It also provides a cViewMAIL mailbox to work with our Sendmail UFL or other 3rd party products that need to send email.

Crystal Reports 9.0/10.0/XI/2008 compatibility
cViewSERVER is compatible with Crystal Reports 2008 and can process all prior versions of Crystal Reports. 

Improved Management
There are many management improvements in cViewSERVER.  The log file and schedule statistics will be emailed to system administration.  You can organize your reports into projects.  You can use collections to run several tasks as a single schedule item.  You can sort the schedule by next run date, last run, name or frequency.  Each report keeps statistics of how often it runs and how long it takes on average to process.

cViewMANAGER functionality
Includes all the key features of our cViewMANAGER report scheduler: Dynamic Dates, Multirun, Table Mapping and List Processing are all supported in cViewSERVER

* For compatibility reasons, we will be keeping the cViewSERVER, cViewREMOTE and cViewMANAGER version numbers in step, and will release new versions of all three at the same time.  This is because cViewREMOTE can be used to manage either report scheduler.
