In October 2009, we released version
12.40 which upgrades the run time to support Crystal Reports 2008 and
the Dot Net Framework 3.5. This improvement means that reports
designed with features new to Crystal Reports XI and 2008 are now
processed correctly. It also supports SMTP mail servers that
require authentication.

Here are some of the features and
benefits of cViewSERVER scheduler:
Runs as a Windows Service
Running as a WIndows Service improves your reliability
because when the server
restarts, the reports in the schedule will automatically restart.
You do not need to be looged on to
the server which is a major security issue if it is left unattended.
The machine simply needs to be switched on.
Critical errors are
written to the Windows Event Log so your network administrators can
monitor and manage reports better.
This is a total rewrite of our cViewMANAGER product to run as a Windows
Service.
cViewREMOTE for Schedule Management
cViewSERVER includes one
cViewREMOTE client for schedule management.
This includes adding and removing reports from the schedule, setting the
schedule time and output destination, and all the other configuration
settings. cViewREMOTE will also manage an existing cViewMANAGER
schedule. Additional cViewREMOTE clients are available separately.
cViewMANAGER functionality
Includes all the key features of our cViewMANAGER report scheduler
which runs on the desktop (cViewSERVER runs instead as a WIndows
Service) :
Dynamic Dates, Multirun, Table Mapping and List Processing are all supported in cViewSERVER
Converting from cViewMANAGER to
cViewSERVER
The two scheduler products have a different internal
architecture, for instance your cViewMANAGER report schedule cannot be
read automatically by cViewSERVER. Please click

for issues to address for a successful conversion from one scheduler to
the other.
Improved SMTP processing
cViewSERVER uses the SMTP protocol to send email messages to your mail
server.
It also provides a cViewMAIL mailbox to work with our Sendmail UFL or other
3rd party products that need to send email.
Improved Management
There are many management improvements in cViewSERVER. The log
file and schedule statistics will be emailed to system administration.
You can organize your reports into projects. You can use
collections to run several tasks as a single schedule item. You
can sort the schedule by next run date, last run, name or frequency.
Each report keeps statistics of how often it runs and how long it takes
on average to process.
CSV export functionality
cViewSERVER does not have an option to
export to csv format because the latest run-time provided by
SAP/Business Objects to 3rd party developers like Chelsea
Technologies Ltd lacks the CSV export functionality.
We do however have a work around : If
you want to output CSV format files from a report, create a formula
in your report using functions from our product
GRID User Function Library.
It builds up a file which is in effect exported when the report is
scheduled by cViewSERVER. Grid UFL may be purchased for US$99.97
XML export functionality
cViewSERVER does not have an option to
export to XML format because the latest run-time provided by
SAP/Business Objects to 3rd party developers like Chelsea
Technologies Ltd lacks the XML export functionality.
We do however have a work around : If
you want to output XML format files from a report, create a formula
in your report using functions from our product
XML User Function library.
It builds up a file which is in

Scheduling Suite
for integrated,
customized scheduling in your environment:
This enables you to run reports with
parameter values which are dynamically chosen. The parameter values to
be used in the next run are built up by a Crystal report using GridUFL
within a suite of processes you define using cViewSQL.
For example, you can have a weekly
report which emailed to Company A, B and C one week and the next week it
goes to Company B, C and Z - all calculated automatically using the
parameters dynamically output in the previous cViewSQL run according to
your criteria.
