Where does the name come from?

We thought long and hard about what company name to use. We wanted something distinctive, easy to remember, easy to spell and yet with an identity that made it easy to remember.

Then we looked out the window. Our office in Birkenhead looks down on to Chelsea Bay in Auckland's lovely Waitemata harbour. We have a clear view of the city, the skytower (doesn't everyone in Auckland), Meola Reef, Point Chevalier and the Waitakeries beyond. Chelsea Bay was our inspiration.

What does the logo mean?

Well, we could say that it's a representation of Chelsea Bay, Auckland Harbour and Rangitoto Island on a typical blue sky day. And if we said that, then it would have to be true. That's what it represents.

The dark green is supposed to be a Pohutakawa tree on the side of the cliff. But you knew that already didn't you?

But if you have actually been to Chelsea Bay (see below) you would realise that it doesn't look out at Rangitoto. The island is such an icon of Auckland that we wanted to include it in our logo as well, so forgive us for some poetic license, but we feel it looks better than way.

Where did we get it from?

We hope that it obvious. We drew it ourselves. Sometimes that's the easiest way to get what you want. The technology makes it easier than drawing it by hand, but in the end, it's a logo we are happy with.

We hope you like it too.
